Why Ink Brand Matters!

My Go-To Tattoo Inks: A Personal Guide to What I Use in My Work

As a tattoo artist, the tools I choose are just as important as the designs I create. Among them, tattoo ink plays a huge role in bringing artwork to life—giving it vibrancy, depth, and staying power. Over the years, I’ve tried a variety of inks, but I’ve found a few brands that I consistently rely on for their quality and performance.

Here’s a breakdown of my favorite tattoo ink brands and why they’re the backbone of my work.

World Famous Ink

When it comes to bold, lasting colors, World Famous Ink is one of my top choices. The pigments are rich and vibrant, which means the tattoos I create stay bright and true even years down the line. I love how consistent the ink is—it flows perfectly, whether I’m packing in color or creating smooth blends.

Why I Use It:

  • Vegan and cruelty-free, which is important to me.

  • Their pre-mixed colors save me time during sessions.

  • It works beautifully for everything from bold outlines to detailed shading.

World Famous is perfect for clients looking for tattoos with eye-catching, vivid colors.

Solid Ink

For traditional and neo-traditional tattoos, Solid Ink is my go-to. It’s created by tattoo artists, so you can feel the thought and care that went into each bottle. The pigments are super bold, and I’ve noticed they heal exceptionally well. Solid Ink is perfect for pieces that demand strong, timeless colors.

Why I Use It:

  • Organic pigments that deliver bold results.

  • Amazing range of colors for both classic and custom designs.

  • It blends effortlessly, which is ideal for my style of tattooing.

Whether it’s a striking red or a deep, moody green, Solid Ink never disappoints. Their colors are one of the easiest to use and reliable. Solid ink have great muted colors which works really well for my background elements.

Dermaglo ink, Tattoo Ink

Dermaglo

When I need smooth gradients and consistent shading, Dermaglo is a staple in my lineup. It’s an ink that feels reliable for both black and color work. I especially like it for tattoos that need a lot of layering because the ink holds up beautifully during the process.

Why I Use It:

  • Known for its longevity and consistent healing.

  • Great for both vibrant colors and subtle tones.

  • Works equally well for fine lines and bold designs.

Dermaglo’s versatility makes it a great choice for any style I work on, whether it’s a custom full-sleeve or a smaller, detailed piece. Their grey color is a must have in a collection!

Tattoo ink, vice colors

Vice Colors

I discovered Vice Colors a little later in my career, but it quickly became a favorite. It got introduced to me via our friend Jordi from Common Ground Tattoo in Bangkok. Their pigments are bright, saturated, and perfect for clients who want their tattoos to pop. The ink is smooth and easy to work with, making it ideal for achieving those clean, crisp lines and bold fills.

Why I Use It:

  • Ultra-saturated pigments for vibrant tattoos.

  • Easy to work with, especially for intricate designs.

  • Perfect for custom, high-impact pieces.

Vice Colors has earned a permanent spot on my workstation, especially when I’m creating colorful, detailed tattoos. It’s abit more advance color as there aren’t too many premade colors to choose from. However, if you know your color theory you can mix the basic colors to get what you are after.

Why Quality Ink Matters

I take pride in every tattoo I create, and the ink I use is a big part of that. These brands—World Famous Ink, Solid Ink, Dermaglo, and Vice Colors—give me the tools I need to bring your ideas to life in the most vibrant and lasting way possible. Each ink I choose is safe, reliable, and meets the high standards I set for my work.

When you sit in my chair, you can trust that the colors going into your skin are the best the industry has to offer. It’s not just about how the tattoo looks when you walk out of the studio—it’s about how it holds up over time, and these inks ensure it’ll look amazing for years to come.

Final Thoughts

Choosing the right tattoo ink isn’t just about color—it’s about quality, consistency, and safety. These brands have proven themselves time and time again in my work, and I’m confident they’ll continue to deliver the results both my clients and I expect.
